Geostorm is a 2017 American disaster film[1] co-written, produced, and directed by Dean Devlin as his feature film directorial debut. The film stars Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, Alexandra Maria Lara, Richard Schiff, Robert Sheehan, Daniel Wu, Eugenio Derbez, Ed Harris, and Andy García. The plot follows a satellite designer who tries to save the world from a storm of epic proportions caused by malfunctioning climate-controlling satellites.
Plot:
Following a series of extreme natural disasters, an international coalition commissions "Dutch Boy", a system of satellites designed to control climate on a global scale. After Dutch Boy neutralizes a massive typhoon before it can hit Shanghai, a Senate sub-committee reprimands chief architect Jake Lawson for activating the satellites without prior approval and replaces him with his brother Max, who works under Secretary of State Leonard Dekkom.
Three years later, a United Nations field team stationed in Afghanistan comes across a frozen village. Simultaneously, an engineer working on the International Climate Space Station (ICSS) steals data from the Afghanistan satellite moments before being ejected into space. U.S. President Andrew Palma calls an emergency meeting of his Cabinet after learning about the Afghanistan incident and, after Max demands they conduct a proper investigation, agrees with Dekkom's suggestion to send Jake. Max travels to Cocoa Beach, Florida, and convinces Jake to investigate. Another satellite causes temperatures in Hong Kong to increase, resulting in a firestorm that nearly kills Max's college friend Cheng, who serves as head of Dutch Boy's Hong Kong department.
Jake arrives to ICSS to examine the satellite that decimated Hong Kong with station commander Ute Fassbinder and her crew. A malfunction damages the satellite and erase its data. Back on Earth, as a hailstorm levels Tokyo, Cheng discovers he has lost login access and warns Max of global cataclysm known as "Geostorm" if the malfunction continues. Max discovers he cannot access the satellites and his login access has been deliberately revoked. Cheng flies to the United States after evading a team of armed mercenaries.
Jake and Ute fly outside the ICSS to retrieve a hard drive which had been ejected along with the satellite engineer. They keep the hard drive secret from the crew, suspecting a traitor. Jake and Ute look for the source of the error but are blocked. Jake reports the findings to Max. The ICSS staff attempt to neutralize malfunctioning satellites by deliberately knocking them offline via collisions with replacement satellites. After Cheng tells Max of Project Zeus, an assailant intentionally causes Cheng's death in a traffic accident. Max and Dana discover Project Zeus simulates extreme weather patterns to create the biggest Geostorm.
Jake, Ute, and fellow crew member Dussette recover the copied log data from the dead engineer and discover a virus has systematically wiped out everyone's login access to that satellite. Jake suspects the President is behind the attack and is using Dutch Boy as a weapon. He tells Max he needs to reboot the system, which requires the kill code, held by the President. Max asks Sarah, his girlfriend and a Secret Service agent, to help him to acquire it.
During the Democratic National Convention in Orlando, Max discovers Orlando is next in line for a superstorm. He requests Dekkom to help secure the kill code from the President, but Dekkom instead tries to kill Max, unveiling himself as the saboteur. Max escapes and immediately informs Sarah. He and Sarah "kidnap" President Palma to protect him from other service members potentially with Dekkom and secure the kill code. They save Palma and escape from the stadium before a lightning storm destroys it. After outsmarting Dekkom's mercenaries, Max and Sarah confront him about his intentions as he's arrested: to wipe out all of America's "enemies", take out the line of succession, and dominate the world.
Onboard the ICSS, the team loses control of all operations and is forced to watch the virus initiate the self-destruct program. As cities around the world are devastated by natural disasters, Jake realizes software engineer Duncan is responsible and confronts him. In the ensuing scuffle, Duncan accidentally ejects himself into space while Jake escapes. As the crew evacuates, Jake stays behind to ensure the reboot completes. Max and Sarah escort the President to Kennedy Space Center, where it is revealed that, while the Geostorm can be stopped, the kill code cannot stop the self-destruct process.
Ute stays behind to help Jake reboot the system, transferring satellite control to NASA and preventing the Geostorm. The two take shelter in a replacement satellite as the self-destruction sequence completes and signal for a nearby shuttle to pick them up. Six months later, Jake works as the head engineer for a new system of satellites, which is now administered by an international committee.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is a 2017 action spy comedy film produced and directed by Matthew Vaughn and written by Vaughn and Jane Goldman. It is a sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014), which is based on the comic book series Kingsman, created by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar. The film features Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Edward Holcroft, Sophie Cookson, and Hanna Alström reprising their roles from the first film, with Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Elton John, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges joining the cast. The plot follows the members of Kingsman needing to team up with their American counterpart, Statesman, after the world is held hostage by a new threat.
Plot:
A year has passed since Eggsy Unwin and the secret organisation Kingsman saved the world from Richmond Valentine's neurological wave broadcast. He has since taken his late mentor Harry Hart's title of Galahad and lives with Crown Princess Tilde of Sweden. On his way home he is ambushed by Charlie Hesketh, a former Kingsman trainee who lost his arm and vocal cords during the Valentine incident. Eggsy evades Charlie and his henchmen in a car chase across London, but Charlie's severed cybernetic arm hacks into the Kingsman servers through the car's computer system. While Eggsy is away in Sweden, a volley of missiles destroy the Kingsman headquarters and wipe out all of the agents in Britain.
Being the only surviving agents, Eggsy and Merlin follow the Doomsday protocol, which leads them to Statesman, a secret American organisation posing as a Bourbon whiskey distillery in Kentucky. There, they discover that Harry survived Valentine's gunshot a year earlier, but is suffering from amnesia. Eggsy and Merlin are briefed by Statesman head Champagne about a secret terrorist organisation called The Golden Circle. They begin their mission by following Charlie's ex-girlfriend Clara Von Gluckfberg. When Statesman agent Tequila develops blue rashes, he is replaced by agent Whiskey as Eggsy's partner. At the Glastonbury Festival, Eggsy manages to plant a tracking device inside Clara, but his revelation of the mission to Princess Tilde strains their relationship. After several failed attempts to cure Harry's amnesia, Eggsy triggers Harry's memories by threatening to shoot a Cairn Terrier that resembles Harry's late dog.
Poppy Adams, head of world's largest drug cartel, broadcasts a message telling the world about a toxin she laced within every recreational drug available, which causes users to develop blue rashes before progressing through mania, paralysis, and ultimately, death. She also demonstrates the antidote on a captive Elton John and offers it to the world if the President of the United States ends his country's War on Drugs and offers her organisation immunity. The President decides to have every affected user quarantined, including his Chief of Staff, Fox. Eggsy, Harry, and Whiskey head to the antidote factory in Italy after intercepting a phone call to Charlie by Clara. Eggsy manages to steal an antidote sample, but it is broken by Whiskey during an ambush by The Golden Circle's henchmen. During the gunfight, Harry shoots Whiskey in the head, as he suspects that Whiskey is playing both sides, but Eggsy saves him with the same alpha-gel that Statesman had used to save Harry. Princess Tilde calls Eggsy in a state of mania, revealing that she has been affected by the blue rash. Eggsy, Harry, and Merlin discover the location of Poppy's hideout, "Poppy Land", in Cambodia and fly there to steal the remote control which deploys the antidote drones.
Upon their arrival at Poppy Land, Eggsy steps on a land mine, but is saved by Merlin, who sacrifices himself while taking the lair's guards with him. Eggsy and Harry storm through the lair and Eggsy kills Charlie while Harry destroys Poppy's robotic attack dogs with the help of Elton. They secure the briefcase with the access code to the drones and inject Poppy with a more potent dose of her toxin. She gives them the password before succumbing to an overdose. Before they can activate the drones they are stopped by Whiskey, who, having previously lost his wife to crossfire from two methamphetamine users, is revealed to be working alone to ensure that all drug users are eliminated. Eggsy and Harry battle and brutally kill Whiskey in a fight. They release the antidote drones, saving millions of lives around the world.
In the aftermath, Chief of Staff Fox has the President impeached for conspiring to commit genocide on the drug victims. Champ announces that Statesman has acquired a distillery in Scotland to help rebuild Kingsman. To avoid the confusion of two Kingsman agents using the codename "Galahad", Champagne offers either Eggsy or Harry the agent title of Whiskey, but they decline and Statesman tech support Ginger Ale steps in to take the role. Eggsy marries Princess Tilde, and Tequila moves to London to work for Kingsman.
