The study semester is over and some of us will go back for good. So we decided to have a farewell dinner at Golden Jaguar 金钱豹 Buffet in The Place 世贸天街 Mall. It's a all you can eat restaurant, with price 180 Yuan/person.
Defining itself as an “international cuisine collection,” Golden Jaguar is a paradise for buffet lovers - a mecca to gluttony - lose yourself in the enormous selection of dishes from both the Western and Chinese cookery traditions displayed in a seemingly endless succession of cooking stations armed by a veritable army of a waitstaff. The concept may seem dubious, but Golden Jaguar stands out for the sheer variety of dishes and cuisines is reason enough to indulge on everything from sushi, steak, oysters, salads, swallow's nest soup, abalone, dim sum, steaks, Southeast Asian food, Italian pastas, French cuisine, sushi, sashimi, all-you-can ice cream and more. Dinner at Din Tai Fung 鼎泰丰 # Beijing - China
Din Tai Fung 鼎泰丰, A Taiwanese chain that has earned its international renown – taste just one delicate, hand-rolled xiaolongbao 小笼包 and you’ll join the fan club. The soups, fried rice with pork and noodles are also guaranteed to please. (The Beijinger)
Address: 北京渔阳店 朝阳区新源西里中街24号 Chaoyang District(渔阳饭店西北角)
There's some Dintaifung Branch in Beijing. (Official Website).
Xiao Long Bao 小笼包 , is the famous food in this restaurant (Wikipedia). It is a type of Chinese steamed bun (baozi) from Jiangsu province, especially associated with Wuxi and Shanghai (Shanghai was formerly a part of Jiangsu province). In Shanghainese, they are known as siaulon moedeu or xiaolong-style mantous as Wu Chinese-speaking peoples use the traditional definition of "mantou", which refers to both filled and unfilled buns. It is traditionally prepared in xiaolong, which is a kind of small bamboo steaming basket, which give them their name. Xiaolongbao is often referred to as a kind of "dumpling", but should not be confused with British or American-style dumplings, nor with Chinese jiaozi.
They are also called a soup dumpling in English-speaking countries because they are filled with hot soup (and therefore must be eaten carefully).

Trip to Beidaihe Seaside Scenic Area 北戴河风景区, Qinhuang City 秦皇市 D1 # Hebei - China
It's another weekend. We decided to go to the beach and one of my friends suggest to go to Beidaihe Scenic Area 北戴河风景区 beidaihe fengjing qu.
Beidaihe Scenic Area 北戴河风景区 (travel china guide) is a famous summer resort. It is located in the southwest of Qinhuangdao 秦皇岛 City. Its coastline, seaside attractions and convenient transportation all make it a popular destination for travelers. The region around Qinhuangdao 秦皇岛has a temperate climate, with a monsoon cycle and four distinct seasons. It is neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in winter. On average, there are only about 8 days a year when temperatures reach 86F or higher. The lowest average temperatures rarely reach below 50F, even in the winter, thanks to the Bohai Sea currents. This makes Beidaihe 北戴河 convenient to visit year-round, although the best times to visit are from May to October.
We go there by train, I'm sorry I forgot the train timetable in that time. I just remember we need 4-5 hours to go there. We buy the ticket go show. We are 11 people.
We plan to go back on 3rd June morning, but it's full. Only there's about 5 seat. So some of my friends go back first, then the rest will go back at 3rd June night.
Arrive at Beidaihe, we eat lunch first, and of course we plan to eat seafood. Beach means seafood time.
But, one of my friend get drunk and disturb all of us. She has some problem so withour our notice, she drink a lot of beer.
So some of girl team who need to go back early, sleep in other room. And I have to sleep in the same room with the drunk girl, to control her. Hais... But that's the friend are for, hope she will get better in the next morning. Even tough I can't sleep enough.

The Place Shopping Mall 世贸天阶 (1) # Beijing - China
It's weekend, and some of our friends (boys team) go to Wangba. So we, girls team will go shopping. This time, we will visit The Palace Shopping Mall 世贸天阶 Shi mao tian jie. (credit)
Beijing’s funkiest new mall is easy to spot thanks to the digital canopy that sweeps over its central outdoor plaza - the biggest LED screen in Asia would you believe. However if you find the butterflies and seascapes that flash up on it all a bit too much, head straight indoors to the tri-level mall which houses Spanish fashion chain Zara and Canadian shoe retailer Aldo’s flagship store.
Other outlets include Potato and Co., Folli Follie, French Connection, i.t, Miss Sixty, Adidas, MAC cosmetics, Promod, Patricia, Puma, Rolex, and the English-language Chapterhouse bookshop. The Place is mainly composed of the huge screen in the middle and two luxury buildings on its two sides. People walk around under the screen enjoying the space art, high technique, and lighting.
The Place is also a place for luxury shopping and a gourmet experience. There are several open-air bars for you to relax. The Place is a blend of shopping mall, office building, space art and fashion. The Place is designed by Jeremy Railton. He is also the designer for the world’s largest digital screen in Las Vegas. Two four-story malls house Tourneau, China’s largest watch boutique, D&G, Ferrari and English-language bookstore Chaterhouse.
Address: 9 Guanghua Lu, Beijing 朝阳区光华路甲9号
Opening time: 10am - 10pm.
Website: www.theplace.cn.
How to go there? Take subway line 1 and get off at the station of Yonganli (永安里), exit from exit B, then walk to the north along Dongdaqiao Road (东大桥路). After the first crossroad, you will see the Place on your right.

School Trip to Beijing World Park 北京世界公园 # Beijing - China
As usual, at the last week of the month, the school will arrange trip to an attraction place in Beijing. And this month (May 2007), they take us to go to Beijing World Park 北京世界公园 beijing shijie gongyuan. (wikipedia)
Beijing World Park 北京世界公园 is a theme park that attempts to give visitors the chance to see the world without having to leave Beijing. The park covers 46.7 hectares and is located in the southwestern Fengtai District of Beijing. It is about 17 km from Tiananmen, the City center, and 40 km from the Capital International Airport. The park opened in 1993 and is estimated to receive 1.5 million visitors annually.
Close attention to detail was paid in modeling these landmarks after their originals. For example, detailed carvings and ornamentations are included. Even the materials used are modeled after their originals to create the most authentic look possible. For example, the replica of the Great Pyramids was constructed of 200,000 white marble bricks, each as large as a bar of soap. Red Square in Russia, is replicated by paving the smaller model in World Park with over 5 million red bricks smaller than mahjong tiles.
There's an incident in this park. When we first coming, we take picture in one of scenic area. And my friends falls from upstairs and broken her arms. It's really terrifying. The teacher ask the park staff to call the ambulance, and he take her to the nearest hospital. So, while you are taking picture, please always becareful.

The scenic area of the park models itself after the naturalistic layout of the globe, representing the four major oceans, and focusing on five continents: Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, and South America. The park contains about a hundred (109) scaled-down replicas of famous landmarks from nearly 40 countries and regions around the world, including the Tower Bridge in London, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Great Pyramids in Egypt. There is even a miniature Manhattan, complete with twin towers of the World Trade Center. Each landmark represents its country or region of origin and is situated in the park according to its location on the map.Close attention to detail was paid in modeling these landmarks after their originals.
