1 Day Escape to Singapore :: Family Trip to Kuala Lumpur - Johor > Malaysia -- Day 6, 10th July 2016

Today, my family will go back to Indonesia, and me and my lil bro and his wife, still have 1 day left. So we decided today to visit Singapore using KRL Komuter.

We can use bus to go to Singapore from Johor, but it took some time and heard that when there's traffic, will take almost 3 hours.

So we decided to go by komuter train, which only took 5 minutes.

First, we go to JB Sentral. JB Sentral is where Johor Imigration Check-point located. Either you go by bus or train, or walk, this is where you depart.

The taxi from Hallmark Regency Hotel to JB Sentral is MYR 15, and only took 15 minutes. From taxi drop, go upstair by elevator, and turn right.

Once enter the building, you will see the komuter train locket. Buy the ticket in there.

It cost MYR 5 (IDR 16.500) from Johor Bahru to Woodland Singapore, and it cost SGD 5 (IDR 49.000) from Woodland Singapore to Johor Bahru. But, if you buy round-way in Johor Bahru, it will cost MYR 10 (IDR 33.000) and if you buy round-way from Singapore, it will cost SGD 10 (IDR 98.000).

*exchange rate update at journey time

You can count which one is cheaper.

We buy round-way from Johor Bahru, and it cost MYR 10 (IDR 33.000).

Then, we go to the oposite of locket. There's two waiting room, don't make mistake because one of them is for bus.

this is for bus

this one, left side of the bus waiting seat, is for train komuter
at 08:00, the gate is open. We queue to get in, while the staff will check your ticket. Then we will go to imigration check. They will stamp our passport, so we go out from Johor Bahru.

Then we go to the platform, and get in the train. You can sit wherever you want.

Not much people ride the train because most of people who travelling has a car, or maybe they go by tour group.

It's common train, some of the seat has already broken.

After 5 minutes, we arrive at Singapore Woodland Check-point. We go to Imigration check. They have a strict rule in here, so you can't bring wine, cigarette, and other things that prohibited, or you will get to pay.

Even they ask us, what's our purpose to come to Singapore, and where do we stay. How long will we stay. And had we ever visited Singapore before.

After passed the imigration, we arrive at outside.

we go to Woodland Centre Road

It took 45 minutes to go to Woodland MRT Station from Woodland Check-Point. Then we continue ride the MRT to Orchard.

We walk from ION Orchard to Somerset MRT Station. It's still early, no shops has opened yet.

Then we go to Bugis. We plan to eat lunch in there. Bugis Junction Food Court located at upfloor, and another part of mall.

soo yummy
Then we walk around for a while, and at 17:00 we go to Woodland MRT Station. We eat dinner in there, because it's so cheap. Only SGD 2 for Hainan Rice.

It's cheap because they didn't use plate, they use take away method. So they don't have to clean the plate. And we have to throw the trash ourselves.

Then we go ride bus to Woodland Checkpoint and waiting for train departure.

Remember, we can't exchange our ticket to another date. We have to wait for 1.5 hour, but it's okay because it's cheaper.

This time, we passed Singapore imigration, and then go to Johor Bahru imigration first, then go ride the train.

Arrive at Johor Bahru, we go back to hotel by taxi.

After rest for a while, we decided to visit the food court behind the hotel.

We buy 9pcs Pork Satay and 1pcs Lamb Satay. The pork satay is really delicious. 1pcs for 1 RM.

Then we go to sleep. Today is the last day of our trip.

Bangkok Mass Transit ~ Thailand

Don't worry if you go by yourself in Bangkok. The public transportation, especially the subway is so convenient.

There are two kind of subway,

MRTA Subway, which operated underground and BTS sky train which operated upperground. The ticket price is reasonable, and it's so easy to buy it.

My Hotel CMYK @ Ratchada > Bangkok ~ Thailand < 2013 August 09 (3) > (Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Kuala Lumpur)

This is the budget hotel that I stay for 5 nights. It's cheap, and really suitable for backpacker or budget trip.

I choose this hotel, because the location. My cousin's friend ask us to stay at Ratchadaphisek area, and then when I browsing at Agoda, I found this hotel and some other hotel. But this is the cheapest and looks comfortable. Then we discuss it with our Thai friend, and she said that this is better because near her office too, so easy to pick us up.

Located only 5 minutes from MRT Huaykwang exit 1, and near shopping mall. It really convenient. Near 7/11 convenient store, and in the backside has a cafe.

Copy this image, and show to the taxi driver when you want to go to this hotel

We also choose this hotel, because this hotel has family room (triple room). We need 1 room for 3 people, so we decided to book this hotel for 5 nights.

The hotel is clean, for standard double room, looks small, but okay. Just the cleaning service, I don't know how they manage. At the first day, my room didn't cleaning up. And they didn't give us new toiletries and mineral water. But in the next day everything is okay. Only at last day, in my brother's room which family room type, the cleaning service didn't clean the room again.

But so far okay, the receptionist service is good, and they have various breakfast.
