Gyeonggi Paju English Village :: Day 05 :: South Korea Winter Escape Trip 6-15 January 2017

Today we decided to go to Paju 파주시 and visit English Village. We want to go here for a long time ago, and today is the chance.

Paju was made a city in 1997; it had previously been a county (gun). The city area is 672.78km2, and it is located just south of Panmunjeom on the 38th parallel. In 2015, the population of Paju has increased to 427,668. To defend the South Korean capital, Seoul, many U.S. and South Korean army bases are set up in the city. In 2002, the northernmost South Korean railway station, Dorasan, was opened. North Korean territory and Kaesong City can be seen from Mount Dora in the city.

We will go there by bus. There's direct bus from Seoul Hapjeong Station exit 2. We will ride bus number 2200. You can also ride bus number 200, but it has a lot of stop.

Before we go to the bus station, we decided to buy Toast Bread from Isaac Toast at Hongik University / Hongdae. There's 2 branch of Isaac Toast at Hongdae, from exit 4 and exit 9. We decided to go to the one at exit 4. Go out from exit 4, turn right and walk along the street, you will pass by K2, Blanc, Coffee Bene, and LG and then across the street in front of LG building. Turn right, until you pass GS25, and Tous Les Jours. Turn left, and Isaac Toast is on the left. This branch is a take-out one.

I order Bacon Best.

Then we go to Hapjeong Station.

When we arrive at the bus stop, a lot of people queueing waiting for the bus. And the weather is so cold. We decided to eating the toast bread while waiting. Actually, we plan to eat on the bus, but the queueing is too long. We wait almost 1 hour for the bus. And guess what, because the weather is too cold, our bread has already cold T___T.

Because we will go to the north side of South Korea, so it will be colder than Seoul. So I have already buy a hot packs at Garden of Morning Calm. But it's kind of to hold of hot packs. And it's really warm. We plan to looking for sticky hot packs for the next day.

Finally, after some times, the bus has arrive. There's 18 stops to go to Gyeonggi English Village (about 1 hour).

There's a board sign that tells you what stop you arrive and it has English Language. Alhough we missed our stop XD.

When we arrive at the last stop, the driver said it is the last stop. So we decided to ask the driver and he said, you missed it. Fortunately, he is so kind. He turn for a little, until the stop near the English village. And we walk from there.

You won't missed this spot from the bus, and if you see this, it means you have arrived and you have to stop here.

When you enter the area, you will see the locket, which like check-in counter, and then Immigration Office.
The ticket fee is KRW 2.100.
Our Passport to enter English Village

We come at the wrong day. All activity is close at Tuesday. So, not many people in there.

Immigration Office

It's like we come to Europe. The building is interesting and unique.

There's an entertainment company in here. We thought that it's a public building, and plan to go there. Turn out that it's private building. :D

After looking around and take some picture, we decided to go to the next destination.
