Dynamic Maze Insadong :: Day 05 :: South Korea Winter Escape Trip 6-15 January 2017

From Tteokseom Resort Station, we decided to shopping at Insadong. But first, we want to try Dynamic Maze. It is located at Insadong, exit 5 from Jongno-3(sam) ga Station.

Dynamic Maze (Insa-dong) (다이나믹 메이즈(서울 인사동점)) is exactly what it sounds like: a vast maze requiring a variety of skills to complete tasks and find the exit. This indoor maze course has obstacles ranging from walls to climb over, missions requiring attention to details, screaming and dancing to simple trial and error if you want to escape.

The ticket price is KRW 12.000.

We have to wait for our turn to enter the maze. And we have to keep all of our luggage at locker. Put the pin into the locker. Don't forget about the pin, or you can't open your locker.

Then, they ask us to create a name for our team.

Inside, there's a lot of obstacle just like climbing, mirror maze, vertical maze, and many more. It's so exciting especially when you come with your group.

Then we go to emart in front of our guesthouse (Gongdeok Station). The emart here is not to big like the one at Yongsan / Wangsimni. But, we buy some hot packs (KRW 6.800 for 10pcs) in here.
We also eat dinner at their cafetaria.

Tteoksom Resort Station :: Day 05 :: South Korea Winter Escape Trip 6-15 January 2017

Arrive at Hapjeong Station, we go to Tteokseom Resort Station. There's a small amusement park and sledding hill on winter. So we decided to drop by.

Ttukseom Resort Station (뚝섬유원지역) is a rapid transit station on Seoul Subway Line 7. It is located in Noyu-dong in the Gwangjin-gu administrative district of Seoul. It is the only station in South Korea to be located on the underside of a bridge, beneath Cheongdam Bridge. The station also runs underneath a highway with two exits being south of the highway and two north. The south exits serve Ttukseom Resort while the north exits serve Noyu-dong which is administered by and consists of Jayang 3-dong and Jayang 4-dong which contain some residential towers with small shops and other mixed commercial and residential areas. The station is serviced by a single bus route which is located at exit 4. Before Line 7 opened the station was known as Jayang Station (자양역).

Tteokseom Resort Station, is also where Tteokseom Hangang Park 한강시민공원 뚝섬지구(뚝섬한강공원) located.

Ttukseom Hangang Park was a famous resort site even before its rebirth as part of the greater Hangang Park. The park consists of various amenities: music fountains, a riverside square, a rose garden, playground, and a nature learning center.

Overlooking Hangang River, the Riverside Square is the venue for a diversity of cultural events and performances. Using a technology in which light is bounced off the water, the 'water screen' (installed on the main stage in the square) shows movies or cartoons from 20:00 to 22:00 during the holidays.

The park boasts an exquisite cultural complex called Jabeolle (J-Bug), offering plenty of art and rest facilities as well as a magnificent view of the Hangang River. Conveniently located near Ttukseom Resort Station, Jabeolle houses a café, tea house, and gift shop, as well as exhibitions by media artists.

Ttukseom Hangang Park is open all year round and has a variety of attractions that change with each season. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy the thrill of windsurfing, waterskiing, and motor boating. In the spring and fall, the park has a number of seasonal flower exhibitions. In winter, sledding and skating await.

In addition, the park offers facilities for X-Games, artificial rock climbing, cruise ships, a Saturday Flea Market, a nursing mothers’ rooms, and women's lounges, making it a popular place for Seoul citizens.

On Winter, there's Sledding Hill.

The ticket entrance  is KRW 6.000. And we also try the 4D for KRW 4.000. A lot of children play in there and the scene of Han River is beautiful. Especially in winter.

From English Village, we decided to walk to Heyri Art Village. Just cross the street in front of the English Village, and then turn left to small path beside the bus stop. And walk from there.

Heyri Art Village 헤이리 예술마을  is an artistic community in the unification hill district of sv:Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. It was constructed by artists, writers, painters and other creatives.

Heyri Art Valley is Korea's largest artistic community with an area of approximately 495,868 square metres (5,337,480 sq ft). In 1997, Heyri was conceived as a planned settlement. It began in 1998 with an inaugural meeting attended by 380 cultural artists. This unique community village integrates concepts that coexist in the fields of production, exhibit, sales, and habitation of cultural art. From a functional perspective, the Heyri Art Valley was planned with an urban form that focused on cultural businesses. It is home to many galleries, museums, exhibit halls, concert halls, small theaters, cafes, restaurants, bookstores, guest houses, art shops, and creative living spaces for artists. Each building was designed by dozens of nationally and internationally renowned architects, who also designed features of the natural landscape, such as mountains, hills, swamps, and brooks. The community derives its name from a traditional Nongyo (farming song), "the sound of Heyri," native to the region.

They close at Monday.

We eat lunch in here. We found Boys Over Flower K-Pop Drama famous restaurant, Farmer's Table. But it's a luxury restaurant. So we decided to eat at Tonkatsu Restaurant, near Farmer's Table Restaurant.

Then, we go to the bus stop and waiting for the 2200 bus to go back to Seoul.

Gyeonggi Paju English Village :: Day 05 :: South Korea Winter Escape Trip 6-15 January 2017

Today we decided to go to Paju 파주시 and visit English Village. We want to go here for a long time ago, and today is the chance.

Paju was made a city in 1997; it had previously been a county (gun). The city area is 672.78km2, and it is located just south of Panmunjeom on the 38th parallel. In 2015, the population of Paju has increased to 427,668. To defend the South Korean capital, Seoul, many U.S. and South Korean army bases are set up in the city. In 2002, the northernmost South Korean railway station, Dorasan, was opened. North Korean territory and Kaesong City can be seen from Mount Dora in the city.

We will go there by bus. There's direct bus from Seoul Hapjeong Station exit 2. We will ride bus number 2200. You can also ride bus number 200, but it has a lot of stop.

Before we go to the bus station, we decided to buy Toast Bread from Isaac Toast at Hongik University / Hongdae. There's 2 branch of Isaac Toast at Hongdae, from exit 4 and exit 9. We decided to go to the one at exit 4. Go out from exit 4, turn right and walk along the street, you will pass by K2, Blanc, Coffee Bene, and LG and then across the street in front of LG building. Turn right, until you pass GS25, and Tous Les Jours. Turn left, and Isaac Toast is on the left. This branch is a take-out one.

I order Bacon Best.

Then we go to Hapjeong Station.

When we arrive at the bus stop, a lot of people queueing waiting for the bus. And the weather is so cold. We decided to eating the toast bread while waiting. Actually, we plan to eat on the bus, but the queueing is too long. We wait almost 1 hour for the bus. And guess what, because the weather is too cold, our bread has already cold T___T.

Because we will go to the north side of South Korea, so it will be colder than Seoul. So I have already buy a hot packs at Garden of Morning Calm. But it's kind of to hold of hot packs. And it's really warm. We plan to looking for sticky hot packs for the next day.

Finally, after some times, the bus has arrive. There's 18 stops to go to Gyeonggi English Village (about 1 hour).

There's a board sign that tells you what stop you arrive and it has English Language. Alhough we missed our stop XD.

When we arrive at the last stop, the driver said it is the last stop. So we decided to ask the driver and he said, you missed it. Fortunately, he is so kind. He turn for a little, until the stop near the English village. And we walk from there.

You won't missed this spot from the bus, and if you see this, it means you have arrived and you have to stop here.

When you enter the area, you will see the locket, which like check-in counter, and then Immigration Office.
The ticket fee is KRW 2.100.
Our Passport to enter English Village

We come at the wrong day. All activity is close at Tuesday. So, not many people in there.

Immigration Office

It's like we come to Europe. The building is interesting and unique.

There's an entertainment company in here. We thought that it's a public building, and plan to go there. Turn out that it's private building. :D

After looking around and take some picture, we decided to go to the next destination.
