PS: I’m not good in history. So I won’t talk about the history too much.
Keraton Ngayogyakarta located near Malioboro street (the famous street in Yogyakarta). You can walk from Malioboro street. Or if you go by car or tricycle or horsecar, you can ask the driver to bring you to Keraton Ngayogyakarta. Don’t worry, a lot of people in Yogyakarta can speak English.
Keraton Ngayogyakarta open from 09:00 ’till 14:00. You have to buy ticket to enter the Keraton. For domestic tourists, it cost IDR 5.000. For International tourists, it cost IDR 12.500. And if you bring any camera, you have to buy ticket for camera. I forget how it costs, but as I remember, it costs IDR 1.000/camera.
Keraton Ngayogyakarta is really large, so it’s better if you ask for local guide (you can ask when you buy ticket). And it won’t took too long time inside if you use guide and you won’t lost track.
