Yogyakarta Fortress Museum > Yogyakarta ~ Special District of Yogyakarta ~ Indonesia

Yogyakarta Fortress Museum, or known as Vredeburg Fortress Museum or Museum Benteng Vredeburg for Indonesian people, located in front of Gedung Agung and the Sultan Palace Kraton. The original name Rustenburg became Vredeburg. The building served the Dutch colonial administration for various purposes. This square-shaped fortress has a watchtower at each of its four corners.

I didn’t have a change to entering this building, because when I got there, it’s Monday. And they close on Monday. If you want to go there, from Jalan Malioboro, walk straight to Palace direction, 50m before the intersection, the museum is on the left.

There’s a cafe inside the museum, name Verdeburg Cafe. I want to try the cafe actually, but still there’s no chance until now.
