FLIGHT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Your health and safety is always our top priority. To ensure that the highest standards of safety and hygiene are maintained at all times, here are some of the safety measures AirAsia is taking on the ground and in the air:
  • Wear a face mask at all times
All guests are required to bring and wear their own masks before, during and after the flight, including during check in and bag collection. Guests without a mask will be denied boarding.
  • Temperature screening
Temperature screening will take place at different checkpoints, including boarding gates. Cabin crew will also go through temperature checks after every shift.
  • Social distancing
Social distancing will be observed with floor markers at queuing areas, including check-in counters & kiosks. And another safety precaution will be alternate check-in counters to ensure sufficient distance, and we are also working to have contactless check-in processes as well.
  • Web or mobile check-in and early arrival at the airport
Web or mobile check-in to reduce surface and physical contact in check-in and boarding processes. In addition, please arrive early at the airport - preferably 5 hours before departure - to allow for enough time for all the necessary processes to take place. Check-in kiosks and manual check in counters are still available.
  • Cabin baggage policy
We also have a new cabin baggage policy to facilitate social distancing especially during embarkation and disembarkation. You are allowed to bring onboard only one piece of carry-on bag that does not exceed 40cm (Height) x 30cm (Width) x 10cm (Length), such as laptop bag and hand bag, not exceeding 7 kg for each guest. More details are available here.
Luggage with more than the permitted cabin baggage limits must be checked in. This will help minimise unwanted contact between you and another guest’s baggage and vice versa. AirAsia provides free baggage allowance for domestic flights up to 15kg per passenger.
  • Pre-book your hot meals online
Inflight hot meals are not available for purchase onboard. You can pre-book your meals by logging into My Bookings at least 24 hours before your flight departure time. Only limited items such as chips, nuts, chocolate, and canned or bottled water will be available for sale onboard.
  • Aircraft cleaning
All of our aircraft go through regular disinfection procedures, which have been ramped up and enhanced in light of what we’re facing right now.

The cleaning, sanitising and disinfecting products that we use to clean our aircraft are all approved by the Public Health Authority as well as the aircraft manufacturer, which is Airbus in our case. All of our aircraft use HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arresters) aircraft filtration system which filters 99.999% of dust particles and airborne contaminants such as viruses and bacteria.

Back to Magelang :: Family Trip to Kuala Lumpur - Johor > Malaysia -- Day 7, 11th July 2016

Time to back home, our flight is 12:15. The Johor International Airport is like Yogyakarta Airport, so small. And, we have to print our baggage tag by ourself. We go there at 08:30 by taxi, and arrive so early.

After print the baggage tag, we go to baggage drop, and the staff check our baggage, then we have to wait until 10:30 to enter the imigration check. So we walk around, and buy some snack.

Then at 10:30, we enter imigration check, and waiting. There's a small shop duty free inside waiting lounge.  Then at 11:50, we boarding.

my lunch at Airasia, Roasted Chicken with Creamy Sauce, so yummy

Back to Magelang, back to work. I feel satisfied because this time, I could travelling with all family member + my uncle. Even not me who paying all, but at least, I took part 1/3 of the expenses.

Depart to Kuala Lumpur :: Family Trip to Kuala Lumpur - Johor > Malaysia -- Day 1, 5th July 2016

This year, I manage trip to my family and my uncle. We are 8 adults and 1 baby, manage to go together to Malaysia. Our destination is Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.

With Airasia promotion ticket, we got the cheapest flight ticket from Yogyakarta to Kuala Lumpur.

My little brother and his wife has already started their trip yesterday.

Our flight is at 11:45, but we decided to go to the airport at 07:00. This July, is Lebaran holiday and also School Holiday. We go 1 day before the day, so we are afraid if there's a traffic.

And, we arrived at Yogyakarta at 08:15, and there's no traffic. Maybe we go when it's morning, so people still sleeping haha...

Airasia flight from Yogyakarta, will depart from Terminal B. The location of terminal B at Adisucipto International Airport is about 500m from Terminal A. If you drop by Damri / at Terminal A, you have to walk along the coridor near the arrival hall, then turn left. There's a small path that leading to Terminal B.

If you go there by car / taxi, you can ask the driver to drop-off at Terminal B hall. But you have to pay IDR 4.000 to drop-off only, or if you want to park, then you have to pay IDR 30.000. This is a little expensive, but I heard that with IDR 30.000 you can park all you want to.

The terminal itself is new, and looks nice. There's Airasia (domestic and international), Sriwijaya Air (Domestic), and Silk Air (International).

Because we arrive early, we have to wait until 09:00 to drop-off baggage because the counter will opened 3 hours before departure. Remember, Airasia required self check-in. There's self check-in kiosk in there.

After drop the baggage, we proceed to domestic waiting room. Yes, the imigration is inside the domestic waiting hall. There's some restaurant in there, snack corner and also souvenir shop. Because the imigration open at 11:00, so we wait in there. And, inside the international waiting hall(after you passed the imigration process), there's no restaurant or snack shop, so it's better if we wait at the domestic waiting hall.

Domestic Waiting Hall -- you can see the sign of International Waiting hall, the imigration process is inside there

snack shop and lounge  at domestic waiting hall

domestic waiting room
There's also Kids corner, which kids can play Lego while waiting for boarding.

Then at 11:00, we go to International Waiting Hall. First we proceed to Imigration, then we enter the waiting hall.

International Waiting Hall
Then at 11:15, we boarding. We should depart at 11:45, but at 11:30, we already depart. And we arrive at KLIA 2, at 14:45, 30 minutes earlier than the determined time (15:15).

After we passed the imigration and get our luggage, we go to Entrance 2. Our driver has already waiting in the parking lot. I just need to call him.

I rent a car with driver from Jalan Jajan Hemat. (How to rent a car with Jalan Jajan Hemat, click here - on process). Our driver is Mr Nazri, and he is really kind.

It took 45 minutes to go to Bukit Bintang. We stay at Hotel Capitol Bukit Bintang. I booked via Agoda because I have Agoda Point. I have stayed in this hotel before and I really like it, near everywhere. And because I brought my parents and my uncle, so I decided to stay in here again. It's a little expensive for backpacker tripper. But for family, I think it's enough.

Deluxe Twin

Deluxe Twin
See more about Hotel Capitol : Here

Then after we put our luggage, we decided to go to dinner first. I want to try Meng Kee Grill Fish, because there's so many people recommended it at internet. We go to Alor Street, it's really near with the Hotel, only walk 5 minutes thourg small path near MRT construction.

Fortunately, there's not many people in Alor Street because I think it's still early. We order 5 meals. We choose medium size, because we are 8 people. You can choose the size according your needed.

Grilled Shrimp with black pepper for MYR 40

Gilled Chicken Fish for MYR 50 (abou 800 gram)

Bak Cam Kee for MYR 25

Pare Tofu Soup for MYR 15
and another food, it's vegetables for MYR 15. Total cost MYR 183,38 with rice (MYR 12, 8 portion) and drink (MYR 16, tea) and GST 6%: MYR10,38. The waitress is chinese, and I thought I could speak chinese. But their chinese has dialec and it's hard to understand them. They only could speak Malay a little.

After eating, then we go to Berjaya Times Square to shopping. Around 20:30, we decided to go back to hotel.

Don't forget to bought some mineral water, beside the hotel, there's 7-11 convenient store.

Hunting Flight Ticket :: South Korea Winter Escape Trip 6-15 January 2017

Airasia has another Free Seat Promotion, so me and my friend decided to hunting cheap flight. Our destination still South Korea (this is our 2nd trip), and we decided to go at Winter Season.

My 1st trip to Korea at Autumn 2014: https://aawtraveldiary.blogspot.co.id/2014/10/the-journey-begin-magelang-yogyakarta.html

Firstly, we want to go at December 2016 and enjoy Christmas, but we didn't get any cheap flight (even on early month).

So, we decided to hunting for January 2017.

And we got :

*Flight* Yogyakarta JOG to Kuala Lumpur KUL
Friday, 6th January 2017 by Airasia at 17:20-20:55
----- Transit at Kuala Lumpur ----
*Flight* Kuala Lumpur KUL to Seoul Incheon ICN
Saturday, 7th January 2017 by Airasia at 01:00-08:20

and back with:

*Flight* Seoul Incheon ICN to Kuala Lumpur KUL
Saturday, 14th January 2017 by Airasia at 15:55-21:40
----- Transit at Kuala Lumpur for 1 night -----
*Flight* Kuala Lumpur KUL - Yogyakarta JOG
Sunday, 15th January 2017 by Airasia at 09:40-11:15

JOG-KUL Round-way for IDR 645.500/pax
KUL-ICN Round-way for MYR 1.304,16/pax (about IDR 2.122.954/pax)

So, I spend IDR 2.768.454/pax
(without baggage, meal, and seat).

PS: There's no direct flight from Yogyakarta to Seoul, the option is to transit at Kuala Lumpur, or Jakarta. And if I go via Jakarta, I will need domestic flight ticket which more expensive thatn international flight to Kuala Lumpur. So, We decided to transit at Kuala Lumpur (like my 1st trip).

Even I need to transit at Kuala Lumpur, but the ticket has different booking code (because no connecting flight), so that means at Kuala Lumpur, I need to pass the imigration and take my baggage, then 2 hours before flight, I need to check-in again, and pass the imigration again.

If you have situation like this, make sure to spare 4 hours minimum incase there's delay or unexpected situation. And make sure you take the same company flight.

We have not buy any baggage, meal or seat, and we plan to buy them when it's almost departure time.

Don't forget, we bought the ticket for the next 1 year, so it's really cheap, but you have to wait for more than 1 year, even you won't know if you can go or not.

To buy Cheap Ticket, you have to remember. Don't expect cheap ticket at holiday season, and try weekdays if you hardly get cheap ticket on weekend. And when it's time and you can't fly, then there's nothing you can do except let it go.

Incheon International Airport > Seoul ~ South Korea > Day 12 (1) - 2014 October 19 (Busan, Gyeongju, Seoul, Daegwallyeong, Nami Island, Mt Seorak, Kuala Lumpur)

Wake up at 4 o'clock then ride taxi to bus station at 5 o'clock because the airport bus schedule is on 05.50. We decided to ride taxi because our luggage. And it only took 5 minutes. The bus has already in there and it cost W10.000/pax to Incheon International Airport.

The road take 1 hours. After we arrive in there, we proceed to tax refund counter. It's easy. Just go to the counter to check your shopping that wants to refund, don't forget, don't put your buying staff inside the luggage first. So after you got a stemple, then you proceed to the refund self-counter. Scan your passport, and your receipt, then the computer will tell you how much will you got.

If you didn't understand how to do this, ask the staff. They will help you.

Prepare much time before boarding.

After that, we put our buying things to our luggage, and proceed to check-in.

After that we go to subway station to refun our card which happened that we could refund at convenient store. And that's our mistake. The subway station is so far away from international departure and we waste time in there.

After that we eat breakfast on the 2nd floor of International Departure.

We passed Everysing SMent Shop.

Then there's a lot of restaurant and food court. We eat the food court. You can order on the cashier, then you will got a number. Just wait until they call your number and you can take your order.
This is also one of our mistake. It tooks time, and we didn't realize what time is it now. So we just eat and enjoy our waiting. We thought that it's still a long wait.

Then we proceed to imigrations, and take our money on refund counter. After that, we need to ride the monorail to our waiting room.

Out from monorail, when we ride the escalator, we heard a calling, Airasia to Kuala Lumpur. That's when we realize, it's only 5 minutes before departure time. OMG~~~ 5 minutes before departure time and not boarding time. I make a quick react to scream "It's us..." Then they ask us to run. Fortunately, we have prepared our boarding pass so we directly boarding.

We sit in the back, and so many people saw us haha.. It's embarrased.

Next time, If we wants to roaming around the airport, we have to come earlier. It's our mistake because we didn't predict the time too.
I never experienced this things, and this is my first time and hopefully my last time. I didn't want to risk to missed the flight.

Then we said goodbye to Korea. See you next time...

The Journey Begin > Day 01 (1) - 2014 October 08 (Busan, Gyeongju, Seoul, Daegwallyeong, Nami Island, Mt Seorak, Kuala Lumpur)

Today is it. My journey to South Korea for 13th days. Ticket: Check, Hotel Voucher: Check, so time to start our journey.

At 13:15, we depart from Magelang. My friend's parents take us to Adisucipto International Airport Yogyakarta. We eat lunch at Blabak Ayam Goreng Special.

At 14:45 we arrive at Adisucipto International Airport. Luckily, the baggage drop counter didn't have any people, so we can directly put drop our luggage and document checked.

Then we decided to killing-time at Cafe. The restaurant and cafe's price at Airport is really expensive.

At 16:00 we enter imigration and wait for boarding at Waiting Room.
At 16:55 boarding and at 17:20 we depart.

The flight from Yogyakarta to Kuala Lumpur, take 2 hours and 35 minutes. But because the difference time between Yogyakarta and Kuala Lumpur which Kuala Lumpur 1 hours later than Yogyakarta, so we arrive at Kuala Lumpur at 20:40. We got sunset in the plane.

Airasia terminal at Kuala Lumpur move from LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal) to KLIA2, which more large and comfortable. You can spend time by shopping. So many shop in there.

From arrival gate to imigration, it took almost 20-30 minutes walking. It's so big airport. Even the baggage, need some time to arrive at the baggage claimed. We almost spend 1.5 hours to get out from the arrival. By the time we come out, it's already 21:45 local time. I bought ramen at Ramen Ten restaurant for supper at Hotel. Then we wait for the hotel airport pick-up at 22:00 in frong of Old Town White Coffe (just right outside of the arrival gate).

Tonight, we stay at YouniQ Hotel Sepang.

Departure > Bangkok ~ Thailand < 2013 August 09 (1) > (Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Kuala Lumpur)

There's no direct flight to Bangkok from Yogyakarta. So first we go to Kuala Lumpur, then from Kuala Lumpur, we go to Bangkok. We fly by AirAsia flight.

From Magelang (my city), we use airport shuttle bus to go to Yogyakarta Adisucipto International Airport. That time, the shuttle bus ticket cost IDR 40.000 (now might change due some aspect). You can found the startpoint at Hotel Wisata Magelang, Jl Jend. Sudirman 149/367 Magelang (Phone: 0293-364089/0293-365293, Email: hotelwisatamagelang@gmail.com).

You can buy the ticket at the Damri Counter or reserve by phone. But usually, people come 15-20 minutes before the schedule, and directly buy the ticket.

This is the schedule, but please calling number above first before you decided to come to the station. Because it might be changed. And the price, might be changed due some reason. So just calilng to make sure.

Please give some space time to ride shuttle bus because sometimes (especially holiday), it took 1.5-2 hours to go to Yogya from Magelang (normal is 1 hour).
the Ticket
Arrive at Yogyakarta Adisucipto International Airport, we dropped baggage at AirAsia counter. Airasia required web check-in and print the ticket by yourself. Either way, you have to pay for check-in in counter.
