Jakarta Trip > Nephew's Wedding Party ~ 9 September 2016 - 11 September 2016 > DKI Jakarta - Indonesia

There's some family event in Jakarta, from 9 September 2016 to 11 September 2016. So, I accompany my mom and aunties go to Jakarta.

With flight Batik Air from Yogyakarta at 07:40, to Jakarta, we arrive at Jakarta at 09:00 because traffic delay.

Our car rental already stand by at Terminal 1C to pick us up. Then we go to ITC Mangga Dua to shopping.

We eat lunch at Bihun Bebek Beijing.

Then we go to our hotel, Favehotel Pluit Junction. Because it's still early, our rooms still have been cleaned. So we decided to go to Emporium Pluit to walk around.

Emporium Pluit Mall located right next to Favehotel Pluit Junction. I decided to buy some Croyaki snack to fill our evening.

At 15:00, we go back to hotel and check-in. And prepare to go to the my newphew wedding party which located at Fairmount Hotel at Senayan.

This is a far away family's event, so I didn't too know them. But, I know that they still related to me.

And because of the traffic, the driver suggest us to to at 17:00. We arrive at Senayan at 18:00, and decided to drop by Senayan City to spend time.

At 19:00, we go back to the Fairmont Hotel, and it's really traffic jam in Senayan. Just to turn around, we need almost 30 minutes.

The wedding party still not started yet, so we waiting at the lobby. Then the bride and groom come, and we started to eat.

I think, my nephew'swife is a well known family, so many famous person in here. And the party itself is so glamourous. The food is delicious.

At 21:00, we go back to hotel to rest and it's still traffic jam. We arrive at hotel at 22:30.

Qing Ming Festival

Qing Ming Festival, also called Tomb Sweeping Day or Pure Brightness in English, usually falls on April 4 or 5. Qingming (清明) is the second of 24 solar terms on the traditional Chinese solar calendar. It is also a time for people to go outside and start enjoying the greenery of spring.

Qingming Festival is a traditional Chinese festival and an important day of sacrifice for most people (including the Han Chinese and China's 55 other ethnic minorities) to go and sweep tombs and commemorate their ancestors. On this day, tomb sweeping is one of the most important and popular activities to show respect to ancestors.

Qing Ming, or in my family traditions called Ceng Beng, is time when we commemorate our anchestor. We did it at home, with pray and offer food and drink to the anchestor.

It happens every year, and the festival starts from the end of March until April 5th which is my birthday. We usually pick the last Sunday to do the tradition.

Yesterday is my brother's birthday and today is my uncle birthday. And they decided to celebrate together.

It took place at Pandan Restaurant, a restaurant inside Grand Artos Aerowisata Hotel. Just remember, you have to make reservation if you wants to table menu with Chinese Food. If you satisfied with ala carte, there's Indonesian, Western and Asian menu.

2015 Chinese New Year

Pangandaran > West Java ~ Indonesia > Day 01 > 2014 May 15

Today, I went to Pangandaran Beach with my family. We went there by car. We departed at 06:30 from Magelang. Usually it took 5 to 6 hours if no traffic.

We passed Purworejo city. We decided to follow short cut path. And it wrong choice. The road was wavy, and we have to drive slow. 

Then we passed Kutoarjo - Prembun - Kebumen - Karanganyar - Gombong - Sumpiuh - Buntu - Jatilawang - Wangon. We went to Bandung direction.

Once we arrive at Wangon, we turn left. Then we turn right to Jeruk Legi. Usually, the road was bad and not wide, but seems like they have re-build the road. It's bigger and no waving. A lot of new stan nearby.

Then we arrived at Kawunganten. The road was broken. We have to move slow. 

Then we passed Gandrungwangu, and Sidareja. We decided to eat lunch at Sidareja. It's 12 o'clock at noon. We eat fried chicken at Tojoyo. We usually eat here when we went to Pangandaran. It's been 2 years I didn't went here. Usually, every year we went here.

After took lunch, we continue the journey. We passed Karangpucung. The road was bad. But almost the end of regency, the road was good. Then we arried at Pangandaran.

We stay at Aquarium Hotel. We have been numerous time stay here. The hotel was under renovation, so all the facility was not used. And also the familysuite that we booked, was bad. Everything was not in control.

After unpacking our stuff, we go for walk at the beach. But suddenly, it's raining. Then we went back to hotel. At 16:00 we went to the beach again, this time we play in the water. Before 17:00 O went back to the room for take a bath.

After that, we eat dinner. We have our favourite restaurant: Risma Fresh Seafood Restaurant. We can choose the fresh seafood.

We order:

- Shrimp with Oyster Sauce

- Roasted Shrimp

- Fried Pomfret

- Shimping with Oyster Sauce

Then we went shopping at Lina Collections.

But I feel tired, so I went back to hotel first.

Time to sleep, tomorrow will woke up early for sunrise. Good night.. 

2014 Chinese New Year Dinner Reunion

As usual, we celebrat Chinese New Year Eve by Gathering with family. This time, because the Chinese New year was on Friday, so many people can go back home to celebrate together.

It's my cousin's wedding, and held at Hotel Aryaduta Jakarta. It's been twice I stay in this hotel. For me this is enough, especially when it's free XD. The host give us accomodation, so why not.

Hotel Aryaduta Jakarta located at Jl. Prapatan 44-48 Jakarta close to Farmer Status, Ismail Marzuki Park, and National Gallery of Indonesia. Also nearby are Immanuel Church and Sarinah Mall. It's 4.5* star hotel.\

The building was a little old, but for me, it's comfortable enough.

Culinary :: Bukit Indah Hotel & Restaurant > Yogyakarta ~ Special District of Yogyakarta ~ Indonesia

This restaurant is located at Bukit Patuk, Jl. Raya Jogja Wonosari Km. 15, Yogyakarta, 300m above Yogya City. When you go to Baron Beach or any other beach in there, you will pass this place. Easy to find this place, because the road is comfortable, and big enough to notice.

Because the high location, we can enjoy the sunset from here with Yogya City as background. And when the night come, one by one, the light from Yogya City will be on, make the situation more romantic. The restaurant is available inside building, and open sky.

Various menu is available in here; western, chinese, indonesian food, seafood you can enjoy everything while enjoy the scene. But the food a little expensive, and average taste. You can also stay in here, because they provide accomodation too.

When I arrived in here, it's not dawn yet, so the scene is usual. We only drink coffee and eat snack.

2013 Chinese New Year Dinner Reunion

Every Chinese Year, my big family always gathering together to celebrate it. Usually, we celebrate twice, Chinese New Year Eve and Chinese New Year. Just like New year 1st January.

In Chinese New Year Eve, my mom and aunty cook a lot of food. We gathering and eat reunion dinner before Chinese New Year. It is also traditional for every family to thoroughly cleanse the house, in order to sweep away any ill-fortune and to make way for good incoming luck. Windows and doors will be decorated with red colour paper-cuts and couplets with popular themes of "good fortune" or "happiness", "wealth", and "longevity." Other activities include lighting firecrackers and giving money in red paper envelopes.

And when the Chinese New Year come, young people give New Year greetings for elder. We ussually wear red clothes.
